How to: Create a new file from within Explorer or My Computer
Solution:
Select the 'File' menu and select 'New'.
1) Do one of the following to access either Windows Explorer or 'My Computer':
2) Double-click to open the folder in which you want to create the file.
NOTE: If the folder is at a deeper level, continue opening subfolders until the desired folder is open.
3) Select the 'File' menu and select 'New'. (A submenu appears.)
4) Select the application you want to use to create the file (i.e., the type of file you want to create) from the 'New' submenu. (A new file appears in the window.)

NOTE: Options may vary, depending on what applications are installed on the computer.
5) (Optional) To rename the file, type the name you want to use for the new file. (The old name is replaced as you type.)
6) Press ENTER.
7) Double-click the document to open it in the application you selected in step 4).
